Default Meshing Aircraft with Gambit

I am attempting to mesh basic aircraft geometry using Gambit. I have had success by making a volume around the aircraft, subtracting the aircraft and then meshing all the surfaces with a fine mesh and finally volume meshing the created volume. I have used boundary layers on some models, but a lot of times, Gambit won't do boundary layers when I try to volume mesh. I use Tri elements on all the surface meshing. I use Tetmesh for the volume meshing. I am very frustrated with Gambit. It is never easy to create a quality mesh and even when I do make one that looks nice, I don't really know if it is high quality. I use size functions to create the surface meshes. Does anyone know if there is an easier way to create nice meshes in Gambit or if I should be using some other program to create meshes for use in Fluent? Thanks!

I don't have the login data. Just send a email to support@gridpro.com and ask for it.

Use tgrid. It is included in fluent package. For tetra-mesh it works well.

And you can get "DLR-F6" grid from http://aaac.larc.nasa.gov/tsab/cfdlarc/aiaa-dpw/
