Default Vector Plots Question

I was wondering if there was anyone who knew a way to make vector plots where the vectors are uniformly spaced, instead of one from the center of each face. I'm trying to create a far-field picture of the flow, and the mesh is dense in certain areas to refine the flow features and coarse in areas away from the body. When I do a vector plot, the vector density in the refined area is pretty high, and either the vectors overlap and become just a solid mass of vectors, or the scale of the vectors is so small that they just look like dots. Is there a way to create a more uniform distribution of vectors? I've tried skipping vectors, but that just makes the coarser areas look horrible.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Jason
