defining interface zone more than once

Hello,

I am modeling a simple 2D mixing chamber which has two inlets on the same one side. I have generated a mesh for the whole chamber which has different cell sizes for the mixing section and the two inflow sections, which means I need to create an interface boundary condition. My question is: can I define the same one side of the chamber to have multiple interface zones. I created an interface between the chamber side and the first inflow, but when I tried to create an interface betweeen the same chamber side and the second inflow, I got an error describing that I cannot create an interface zone on an already created interface. How can I work around this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Tom

hi!

i came across to see your problem,i happened to see this kind of problem in Combustor design. i feel there are two approaches to this, 1. if both inlet flows are having same fluid and mass flow rate, then select both outlet boundary faces of inflow and create one interface with chamber. 2.if there are different inflows, then you divide inlet volume of chamber and assign boundary faces of inlet flow to chamber create interfaces. bye prashant S.S

Hi Prashant S.S !

Thank you for your valuable information. I used your first suggestion. All zones are now properly defined and working. Simple, yet brilliant!
