How to output Unsteady flow data?
Hi, I am using Fluent to simulate one unsteady flow. But I am stucked on how to output the unsteady data for postprocessing: such as velocity profile of certain point, temperature profile, ect.
Appreciate your kindly help. Frank |
Re: How to output Unsteady flow data?
first of all frank frankly tell if u r saving you cas/data file after some time steps or not ..you can use autosave for that ... now imagine if you have some cases and data files ..then what you can do is write a journal file to output the data from files one by one (i mean just run the journal file ..and fluent shall automatically export the data for postprocessing) .... this is how i did for my 160 cas/data files for exporting to fieldview

Re: How to output Unsteady flow data?
I exported the data I needed using the export command grom the TUI. I enabled it for each iteration using the execute-command at each iteration. Otherwise you can write a UDF and access the data you need (exporting on a file).Luca

Re: How to output Unsteady flow data?
First define the points in your profile. Then use the solve/monitor to plot/write the data (velocity or pressure, etc) that you want to get for those points.
Use the area weighted average and use time steps instead of iterations. |

Thank you all for your advices. I will try it and maybe ask for your help again.
