Hi,
I saw on the Fluent.com website that there is a new version out of Gambit (2.2 I think). From what they say, it will handle quad mapping much better, as well as the meshing of 3d boundary layers. Is this version out yet and is anyone using it? Comments? |

Gambit 2.2.30 has been released. You can get it from www.fluentusers.com. You can also order a CD of the new version of Gambit from there.
They're claiming it'll do everything better, from dealing with geometry to sizing functions to quad meshes. The big change I'm looking forward to trying is the new sizing function. You can grow mesh size from a meshed face. So the face can have a varying mesh size, and the volume mesh will grow at the specified rate off of the face. There's also some new cleanup tools and geometry creation and manipulation is supposed to be much more tolerant. Jason |
