Shock tube problem using fluent 5/6
Hello,
Can anyome tell me how should I impose the Initial/Boundary condition if I am solving a 2D-shock tube problem using FLUENT. I have a high pressure (Driver side) and a low pressure (Driven side). How should I provide these BC's in the package after I have meshed the geometry. Thanks. |

Ravi, You can setup your grid with two zones (one driver zone and one driven zone) and then patch different values for pressure etc. in each zone. Hope this helps, Regards, J

Hi Ravi,
far easier method to setting up a shock tube sim is by using a pressure inlet bc, specifying the conditions behind the shockwave. this removes the need to have two sep domains. as if you are only interestd in the driven section, the driver will jsut have a expansion wave travelling down it. nandu |

Hi Samaneh; Since I have been involved with gas turbine combustor simulation ,I have been working with stirred reactor and with some extent with shock tube.So please tell me what particularely are you intrested in the regard of shock tubes?Are you working on kinetic schemes?flame propagation or ignition and blow off?
