Convergence problem

Hi all,
I am modeling a 2D chimney to study heat transfer in it. At the base of the chimney, I have a energy source term for my fluid to simulate heat source. At the top of the chimney, I specified pressure outlet as the boundary condition. For the solver, I used coupled, implicit, steady, 2D. However, even after 5000 iteration, my solution still do not converge. Wonder if anyone out there who can help me solve this problem? Thanks in advance. |

Sounds like a relativly simple problem?
Firstly, make sure your dimensions, like scale of grid (you wouldn't believe how many students get that bit wrong - often resulting in non-convergence), units of veloicty and heat source and temperature are correct and not orders of magnitude out. Second, see if the problem occurs with Segregated solver Third try lowering under-relaxation factors |
