hello,

I am modelling pipeline resting on seabed and investigating the lift, drag and inertia coefficients. After modelling it, I got the lift force as 0.096563379 N and drag force as 0.04178 N.

These do not make sense. Can someone lead me pls..

Sham.

A common reason for Lift and Drag forces to be off is that the scaling wasn't changed properly. Fluent imports everything in Meters. Go to Grid->Scale and check the extents of your domain. Also, if it is 2D, check the Reference Values for Depth. Fluent multiplies the 2D forces by the specified Depth to report the forces.

Hope this helps, and goodluck, Jason

check the values reported in >report>reference values. Fluent will use the area, length, etc. listed here for calculation of forces. YOu need to change accordingly
