Hi, I have half grid geometry for which I have already generated a grid. Now I would like to have grid of full geometry. Is it possible that I can mirror my grid (in gambit or in Fluent) in x axis and latter in z axis so that I do not have make everything from scratch. Z

Yes... in Gambit

Go to Volume, Move/Copy... change it from move to copy, and then choose reflect instead of translate... set the direction you want to reflect the geometry under the axis selection window (you want it to mirror in the +x direction, then choose +x axis, etc...). Make sure the "copy grid" and "copy zone type" are selected.

You will have to do is connect the faces (the faces between the two volumes... connect them so there is one face shared by both volumes) once you are done reflecting the volumes. This should work without erasing your volume meshes since the faces you are connecting are mirror images of one another.

Thanks for your reply. Actually I would like to convert a 2d mesh into 3d mesh. so now in a 2d mesh I just have mesh in a faces. How can I do it from this Z

You're going to have to build a volume mesh no matter what...

If you pull the faces into Gambit, you can extrude or rotate the faces to create volumes. Those options are under the create volumes panel. At least this way you don't have to rebuild the face/faces you've already made. You might lose your surface mesh if you do this... I'm not sure. Then all you have to do is build the volume mesh. Be careful if you're using an unstructured mesh. Gambit doesn't handle face and volume meshes the same for unstructured grids. The growth rate in the volume is much faster than the growth on the surfaces. Control this using sizing functions.
