Distance and unit problem with GAMBIT

Hello fellow people,

I am a new user of GAMBIT and FLUENT and i encountered a few problems with my geometry creation ! I am trying to creat a line between two points may be too near (?don't know?) to each other. P1=0.000254 and P2=0.0002635 , the programme gives me this error : PROBLEM HERE (ERROR:the edge generates into a point.

What can i do ?

Thanks for your help,

Matt

Re: Distance and unit problem with GAMBIT

It's because your points are too close together. To fix this depends entirely on what you're trying to accomplish. If you're domain is really small and this edge is a reasonable percentage of your domain size, then change the scale of your model (model it in gambit as 10:1, then scale it back down in Fluent). Otherwise, you can consider the two points as one. You might be able to connect the vertices, but the odds are you'll have to re-build one of the edges and ignore one of the vertices. (If line1 uses v1 and v2, and line2 uses v3 and v4, then delete line1 and create a new line connecting v1 and v3).

Hope this helps, and goodluck, Jason

Thanks Jason,

I think i will go for the scaling solution, sounds more proper and clear.

Thanks for your help,

Ciao
