Discrete Phase Model

Hi all I am trying to inject argon into a steel ladle through a porous plug (porosity 30%). The porous plug dia is 30mm. Now should we use an apparent area which is 30% lesser to calculate the gas velocity or use the original area based on 30mm Dia. Thanks in advance

Hi rajeev,

I hope, you should calculate the superficial velocity, based on porosity at the inlet, and use as a inlet velocity BC, when u r using uniform porosity distribution.
