hi, I have a 3D model that have high skewness values. However whatever I do for lowering skewness values didn't work. The worst element has a skewness of 0.82. What should the limits of skewness be for analyzing a turbulent flow of air around a body? is 0.82 anyway ok? Thanks Regards Taskin

I have read that maximum skewness value should be around 0.5.

what? the max skewness should be 0.5? in my mesh ,it often exceeds 0.9. because i use dynamic mesh, sometimes over 0.95, and there will be a warning. so, i should remash it?

Yes, handou is right. The limit should be anyway 0.9 not to have excessive skewness. Luca

From my experience, try to stay under 0.75.
Up to 0.85 is acceptable, but not good. Above 0.98 - and Fluent Grid check will fail. Also when you use such skew cells, it makes sense to go to 2nd order methods for density, momentum etc. |
