Hi, I want to use multiphase Eularian-granular model for the following problem: There are to phases of solid-gas flow outside a porous cylinder.I want to let the gas pass through the porous zone and the particle leave at the surface of the porous zone,but the gas and particle go into the porous zone and leave together.Is it possible to do this using FLUENT Eularian model to obtain the particle movement outside the porous zone.I have not find boundary condition that can prevent the particle from entering into the porous zone. If anyone knows please reply as to how I should proceed?

How many granular particles do you have ?. In fluent multiphase flow is modeled as an eulerian - eulerian system and not as a langrangian - eulerian system so there might be some discrepancies with the simulated results. If you have very few particles use the particle injection technique instead of using a granular model. I'm not sure if you can write an udf , but if it is possible try to write an udf of initial particle distribution and do your calculations.

Thanks a lot. There are many particles in my model and the flow in the vessel is dense, so I want use eulerian - eulerian system to simulate the gas flow and particle movement. My difficulty is that I cannot control the fate of the solid phase when the particles encounter the porous zone. I want to write a udf file to let the particle stay at the porous zone¡¯s surface, but in the Fluent, I cannot find the place where the udf file should be put. So I want to know whether my idea is feasible.
