Grid convergence
 
Hello,

I am doing CFD analysis of flow through an elbow pipe. Does anyone have an idea as per what is the limit to the finest convergence that could be acheived in such/or any kind of flows. I am acheiving an epslon error (for axial velocity) of 0.4%. Is that good enough as per top quality CFD analysis standards? Thank you much in advance.

You mean iteration error by "Epsilon error"? then it is somewhat large in my opinion. The convergence achievable cannot be easily quantified though and you have to consider accuracy and details needed as well as complexity of problem to define convergence.

Iteration error?. Okay well here you go: I got 2 grids. I am trying to acheive grid convergence. Suppose I take velocities in the two grids and compare it at some section. Now whats a standard for that figure for really stringent CFD studies. Hope u get me this time and thank you much for replying.
