A thought on Wall Y+
hello all,
I am modelling flow ard cylinder for various Re ranging from 100 - 10^6. I get a low Y+ values for low velocity(low Re. However, when I move to higher Re, say 10m/s the Y+ increases tremendously. This is using the same model(same mesh). Now, I know that wall Y+ depends on the velocity of the flow. For low Re, I do not adapt boundary since Y+ value is low. If I use adapt boundary for high Re(high Y+), will that be consistent? Or shall I just keep to that value with using any boundary adaption to make it consistent. I am using ske model with enhanced wall treatment. Thanks in advance. Sham. |
Re: A thought on Wall Y+
you can use same mesh for high reynold number flows. For high reynold number flows Y+ at the wall should be as low as possible. And max. Y+ away from the wall more or less 65. You can use adaption or you can use fine mesh at the wall.
