maximum memory 32bit fluent version

Dear all!

Is it true that a 23 bit fluent version is only able to adress 2GB of RAM? My Linux workstation has 4GB available and I need more than 3GB for the next job...

What can I do?

i think windows does not allow more than 2gm ram, on linux it shall be fine, (i do not have experience with 32bit linux

Thanx for you replies.

I'm using a Linux-machine with a Athlon64 and Linux is able to handle 4GB RAM.

My question was why am I not able to start a fluent (fluent 32bit version for Linux!!) job with more than 2GB on my machine? I would also prefere a dual processor machine but it's not up to me...

I think there is a version of Redhat Linux (Redhat Enterprise Linux WS)that will support 4GB memory on a 32bit machine,Try it !

My Problem isn't the Linux version. My debian support's 4GB.

But my 32bit fluent version is not able to allocate more than 2GB of memory by using only one processor.

on 2 cpu machine if you run two process then u can use more than 2 gb ram, on my two cpu i have observed that in some cases i was using 2.9 gb ram (total ram was more than 3 gb), i guess on windows we can't start a single process that takes more than 2gb (i am not sure but i somewhere read this sort of thing)
