Fluent 6.2 on debian linux
Hi there,

does anyone here have some experience with running Fluent 6.2 on debian linux?

It seems to work fine here, but at startup I get some error messages/warnings about the missing rpm packet management and an "domainname: command not found".

Are those just cosmetic errors or do they influence my work with Fluent?

Any comments would be appreciated.

Best regards, Chris

These startup errors are not related to Fluent in any way, unless when you start fluent you get these errors on the console.

PS: It is finally nice to see someone using Debian GNU/Linux :)

Install what ever it is asking for using apt-get and the messages should vanish. There are some optional rpms which are used, which do not affect the computation but for the decorative and other purposes.

Re: Fluent 6.2 on debian linux
Thank you both for your response.

I partially solved the problem by installing rpm (which now complains about not being able to access its database, although I created it) and softlinking dnsdomainname (which is in debian) to domainname (which is expected by Fluent).
