Hi, I am trying to create a 3D geometry with a distributor. The difficulty is in meshing the entire geometry, the main flow section + distributor.Can anyone suggest?

Difficult to say from this. Depends on your geometry. If yr distributor is kind of plates with number of holes(fluid area) then mesh those holes first and then try to generate mesh for the whole domain.Ofcourse depends what kind of domain you have. -US

Thank you for your reply. That's eaxctly what I was trying to do. The distributor is like the one used for bubble columns, a circular plate with holes drilled into it with a column resting on the distributor. The problem is ,the distributor and the column has a common face, how to generate mesh in this geometry ?

Do you have windbox(portion below distributor)? In any case, you should have split distributor plate from the column domain and then hole surfaces from the distributor plate. Once you hv done so, mesh the holes with relatively smaller cells and then try meshing domain. By the way, what kind of elements you try to use for your grid? Probably, triangular since many small holes on the distributor. I think, there shouldn't be any problem with that. If not successful, could you find what error it gives? Regards, -US
