To run FLUENT in a 64 bit machine

Dear All,

I would like to buy a 64 bit machine. Should I install the 64 bit Windows? May I still use the previous version of Fluent? The current version of my fluent is 6.2.15?

Thank you very much.

Re: To run FLUENT in a 64 bit machine

You can run it on both WinXP or Win x64, however Fluent 6.2.16 for WIndows is 32-bit, so it will be emulated to 64-bit layer by means of WoW(Windows on Windows)emulator. You won't notice any difference in speed, i tested it on both OS. If you need to use >2GB/simulation the best way is to get 64-bit Fluent for 64-bit Linux.
