Nodes Vs Quality?

Hello there,

I'm quite new to fluent and have a question regarding the node spacing. When i run a simulation with a certain node spacing, i get a result. Ok. Now, when i increase the node spacing and run the simulation again, i get a different result and the calculations take longer. So, does this mean that the more nodes I have, the more reliable and realistic the result???

Many thanks for any suggestions, Gary.

Gary,

The number of nodes has a relation with the accuracy of the result, however if you have too many! nodes you might cause your simulation to be unstable. What people usually do is a grid dependance study where you run your simulation with a very coarse grid and keep increasing the number of nodes (or minimizing the spacing) until a point where the solution don't change anymore and thats the number of nodes recommendable.

hope this help,

AJG
