Dear all,

i try to read the fluent particle result (part report) to fieldview. I use the translator in Fieldview CD, fluent2fvp_pc.exe. However, after import to fieldview, a error occured:

Line ****** Char-1 : Excepting path tag ID. The Line ***** is the last line of the fvp file and it's blank.

The problem is that the fieldview translator is now obsolete. you can export directly to .fvp format from fluent 6.2 under the solve -> particle history -> export particle data.

You can also fix that error in your files using another method. Open the .fvp file in text editor and you should see something like this

Variable

Names

9

TIME

U-VELOCITY

V-VELOCITY

W-VELOCITY

DIAMETER

TEMPERATURE

DENSITY

MASS

The problem is that there is supposed to be 9 tag names in this example, however there is only 8. Simply add another tag name, such as COLORBY to the list and save the file. This should fix the error
