Default boundary conditions not recongnized

I have generated a mesh trying to use axisymetry to calculate de pressure drop between two circular paralel plates where the flow is radial. I have created de geometry in 2d and i have defined teh boundary conditions with fluent -a velocity inlet -a pressure outlet -an axis (an edge along the x axis) -the walls

but when i read the archive in fluent, it recognize all the edges as walls and the edge defined as the axis don't appear when i display the grid

any ideas? thanx

If the edge isn't part of the mesh (i.e. the fluid isn't actually touching the axis of symmetry), it won't show the axis. The only time you need to define the axis is if the flow is touching the axis (when you define it as an axis it treats it like a symmetry BC). Other than that, the axis is going to be the x-axis and your domain must be above the x-axis.

Good luck, Jason
