DPM: Odd Results?

Hi all,

I am doing a two phase validation of a jet using the discrete phase model. The results I am getting are good for the gas phase, however for the particle phase, V velocity that is reported by fluent is generally a factor of 10 smaller than that which is reported in literature.

I am using a length scale of 0.0001m and Max No. steps 10000. Could these have any influence? Also I have specified the injection on a surface with 60000 (avg diameter: 0.00014m) particles and have used the Roslin-Rammler distribution scheme.

I know that the V velocity can be specified in the injections panel but this makes all the particles have this velocity, and that is besides the point anyway as initially I don't know the V velocity of the particles and I thought Fluent will be able to work this out if I left this as default. Does any one have any suggestions?

Thanks

Steve
