Hi,
I want to repair a "dirty" geometry and automatise the process of connecting some vertices until some tolerance. I have too much vertices to connect and want to automatise this process. How can I do this? Do while 1) Select the shortest edge 2) connect the two vertices of the edge 3) connect them Until shortest edge > lenght_ref |

The newer versions of Gambit (I don't know when they started, but they're in Gambit 2.2 for sure) have cleanup tools that help. They may not solve your problem, but they're worth a try.
In the tools command there's a geometry cleanup icon (looks like a hand washing a window). In there, the first icon on the left is "Cleanup Short Edges". You can type in your maximum length, then you should be able to click "update" and it should find all of the edges that are shorter than what you typed, and click "auto" and it should automatically try to clean up all of the edges that it found. This may not get them all (it might not know what to do with some of them) but it should help at least. Hope this helps, and good luck, Jason |
