Multi materials in conduction

Hi Guys,

Want to model conduction through coupled solids. i.e. solids that are in contact with each other yet have different material properties.

I assume this is possible in Fluent but would want a few bits of advice on how to go about it.

How do I connect the different regions so that conduction can occur across the connection? How do I set different material properties? Can I set a bond resistance for the juntion?

Make separate regions that share common edges in GAMBIT. Each region will be a different material. If you want contact or bond resistance, define the common edges as walls. In FLUENT you can then assign a thickness and conductivity to the walls.
