Gambit fatal erroe

Hi all,

I am using GAMBIT2.2.X. While creating geometry of a reactor, which is 500*1500 having as many 64,000 particles takes a lot of time. And coming to face substraction, it gives me "fatal error Gambit cannot continue from this point. Please contact your local fluent distributer". My system has quite sufficient memory, 64-bit processor and other hardware is also fine.

Could you please tell me the solution of these problems?

regards, mausmi

Dear Masumi:

Perhaps, there is problems with your licensing file. Contact your fluent vendor. They have to update your licensing file. It may that this cause problems with the FLUENT program, too.

why do you assume a license problem, when Mausmi states he has a fatal error when subtracting faces?

Dear Laika:

Masumi said that her/his model has 64000 particels and when subtracting volumes the error occured. As i know FLUENT inc. provides restricted volume numbers based on license represented to the consumer. Also, during subtracting, GAMBIT generates volumes because of it's subtracting algorithm. these volumes will be removed when subtraction finished and just is internal. So, I guessed that this may cause error.

Re: Gambit fatal erroe

thanks for this, I didn't know Fluent limits functionality with the license file.

So the way to test if this caused the problem would be to first delete a couple of other faces/volumes, and then do the subract. If this works, then your guess was probably the right one. No?

kind regards,

Dear Laika:

Yes, I think it is right to remove some faces/volumes and then try again.
