How to import mesh from Ansys?
Hello there ,
i prepare the mesh in Ansys but i can't import it in fluent. The documentation didn't help me. Any suggestions. How should i save the mesh in Ansys? Thanks |
Re: How to import mesh from Ansys?
I think you should import your ansys mesh into GAMBIT instead, then export it as a classic .msh file.
Hope this helps, Edi. |

Dear Achileas:
I agree with edi. Export your model in ansys in IGES format and then import in in gambit using import IGES. Best Regards Mehdi Ghoddosy |

Thanks a lot guys, but i run in to many problems with gambit. Is there a way to import directly from ansys?

Re: How to import mesh from Ansys?
Hi Achilleas
in your previous posting you said that "documentation didn't help", so I suppose that you read page 6-25 and following in Fluent User's Guide about importing ANSYS grids. What's going wrong exactly with that three ways? I never tried, by the way, to do it by myself but I was not surprised to hear someone running into trouble trying to do it...It's common practice to import meshes others than .msh in gambit before (IGES better, as Mehdi said, or CGNS, Nastran surface meshes also work...) and then "translate" them into the common file format. What happened when you tried to do this? Cheers Edi. |
