But how can I change the dimension of the contour and the scale.

I mostly save as .jpg so file -- hardcopy option .jpg; color; inverse background (black will be white and vice versa: saved a lot of black toner), and then you can set your dimensions explicitely. width 1200, hight 900 is sufficient for presentations and reports.
