hi, i work on fluidized bed simulation, following error have been occured during the solution:

""Error: Floating point error: overflow"" what should i do?when this error occurs?

and following sentences:

""turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio of 1.000000e+05 in 1745 cells turbulent viscosity limited to viscosity ratio of 1.000000e+05 in 1538 cells""

what should i do for that?is it a problem? regards

hi masood,

in the panel solve-controls- limits set turbuelnt viscocity more than 10^5. for over flow problem u set pressure out let( bondary condition) to atmosphereic condition this may help u.

Dear Hariharanath! i use pressure outlet with atmospheric condition but atill have this problem(overflow).it was steady state simulation ,now i turn on unsteady state and that problem dont exixst now! and is it true to change turbulent viscosity ratio limit?howmuch is real? regards

Hi Masood,

you were right in switching to unsteady state. unsteady solution is better suited for highly non-linear problems. i would say that you should not change variable limits. they are set to optimum values and better left untouched.

Swarup.
