Hello,
I'm a student from Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. I work on Fluent for my end of studies report.I wanted to know which precision on flow caracteristics we can expect? It will depend on the mesh quality and residuals level i guess...? If someone can help me find a idea..it would be usefull for my work. Thanks |

On some models Fluent is as accurate as you want it to be (or as accurate as you can pay for). On other models fluent calculates very accurate results with inaccurate models. Are all the assumptions of the submodels you used valid for your problem? Is your turbulence model the best for your application, and if so, is it enough? Accuracy depends on hundreds of things, but not on residual levels!!!! The only information that you can exstract from residuals, is whether or not your simulation is stable and moves in the right direction. It's a compass, not a GPS-system! It will never tell you were you are.
With the information you have given us, your question cannot be answered. good luck, Laika, still orbiting |
