DPM - droplets
I want to inject fine droplets with DPM into a single gas phase model. It wont let me select droplets. I can only select inert particle.
Is this because i am not using a multiphase model? Can someone please tell me how i can do this. Thank you |
Re: DPM - droplets
...yes, that's because of a single gas model...with this model you can only select "inert" particle...
...if you want to select "droplet", than you have to go to define->models->species->transport, and there you can define your mixture template... for example: define a mixture with "air" and "water-vapor (h2o)", then define discrete phase, i.e. droplets of "water-liquid (h20-l)", and then klick the "evaporating species" (under "injections" and klick on the "water-vapor"... |
Re: DPM - droplets
Thanks Damir, ill give that a try

Re: DPM - droplets
Well im glad Van is happy.
Damir, I have done what you suggested. However, It makes me enter in the mass flow rates at each boundary. The objective of my model is to determine the droplet mass flow rate fraction entering each outlet. i.e. I want to determine the split of particles between two outlets. I there a way to do this? Thanks. John. |
Re: DPM - droplets
Forget that last question, I realize now that these are backflow conditions.
One question though: When the species transport model is turned on and is solved, the mass flow at the inlet almost doubles. Is this calculating the total mass flow of all components? I want to make sure the minor species are not affecting the flow of the primary gas phase. Thanks |
