Turbulence Intensity

Can someone tell me the significance of the turbulence intensity parameter, please? Looking at the manual, it just seems to be a fairly straightforward function of k. What is it meant to be used for?

Re: Turbulence Intensity

Dear John:

Turbulence intensity parameter is not important; but determining K on boundary conditions is important for more accuracy and convergence. In each iteration, k and e values are estimated from neighboring cells previus iteration and velocity vector values. they also affect velocity vector values, so setting wrong value for k and e may reduce your convergence and accuracy. because the first cells on computational domain always estimate k and e from wrong values. If you have problems with estmaing k and e develop your computationa domain.
