Stirred Tank Reactor

Hi,

I am trying to simulate single phase flow in a stirred tank reactor. How do I apply the conditions so as to rotate the impeller ? Do I have to use the sliding mesh also in order to get result ?

If you want to simulate steady state, this is simple problem. Follow the Fluent tutorial. Just set the impeller to move in a statioary system, or set your tank as rotationary system but set the impeller as stationary to the cell.

devide the tank in two zones. One around the impeller and the other one outside this. Use MRF to give the rotation speed in the inner zone and keep the outer zone stationary.
