CUSTOM BOUNDARY CONDITION

DOES ANYBODY KNOWS IF FLUENT SUPPORTS CUSTOM BOUNDARY CONDITION? BY CUSTOM I DON'T MEAN PROFILE B.C.'S BUT NEW TYPE. FOR EXAMPLE U''(X)=0 AT OUTLET???

THANK YOU

I am also wondering the same thing. Would it be possible to change the outlet from a Pressure Outlet to a wall depending on the time?

I have your same problem, but I fear the answer is no...Please let me know if you find an anwer to our probs. Luca

Re: CUSTOM BOUNDARY CONDITION

That's perfectly possible! If you can do it using "boundary conditions" panel, then you can also do it using macros and "execute commands" panel. There you are able to execute it at any number of time-steps you need (of course you are restricted to equal number of time-steps).

This might be enough for you. Another way I do not know for now.

Best wishes, Razvan

I also have a similar problem! I want to define a constant volumetric flow rate boundary condition for an unsteady gas flow problem (like what you'd have if a vacuum pump was evacuating a chamber). Can I do that??!!

Re: CUSTOM BOUNDARY CONDITION

Dear Hadley, this can be done quite simply. You should define a mass source. See Fluent documentation. Regards Luca

Thanks Luca. I'll try that and see how it goes.

Dear Luca...
You said it was quite simple.. but I am not getting the ideia..
How can you simulate a simple case where you want evacuate air from a chamber.. and plotting the pressure over time??
