I am also wondering the same thing. Would it be possible to change the outlet from a Pressure Outlet to a wall depending on the time?

That's perfectly possible! If you can do it using "boundary conditions" panel, then you can also do it using macros and "execute commands" panel. There you are able to execute it at any number of time-steps you need (of course you are restricted to equal number of time-steps).

This might be enough for you. Another way I do not know for now.

Best wishes, Razvan

I also have a similar problem! I want to define a constant volumetric flow rate boundary condition for an unsteady gas flow problem (like what you'd have if a vacuum pump was evacuating a chamber). Can I do that??!!

Dear Hadley, this can be done quite simply. You should define a mass source. See Fluent documentation. Regards Luca

Dear Luca...
You said it was quite simple.. but I am not getting the ideia..
How can you simulate a simple case where you want evacuate air from a chamber.. and plotting the pressure over time??
