Can anybody help me with defining porus materials in Fluent. Any help in modelling it in gambit would also help Thanks in advance Azam

Azam, As far as I know, there are two ways to model porous material. One is the porous media, and the other is porous jump. Amongst these two porous jump is simpler to implement and more robust. To model the porous jump, you would need to create a two sided face in Gambit. You can then specify this as a porous jump boundary in Fluent. Porous media a 3d approach where you would specify a fluid zone and then change it to porous zone in Fluent. Please also refer to the help in user manual under boundary conditions.

Yes there are two ways to model the porous media...Porous jump is for 2D and If your porous medium has thickness then use porous media model. In Fluent solver you have to supply viscous and inertial resistance coefficients. To calculate these coefficients refer to the fluent manual.
