problem with pump as source term

dear all, I have problem in modeling(3D) pump as a source term in the tank outlet. After specifying the mass(kg/m3s) and the momentum(n/m3) in the source term ,the direction of flow for few iterations will be unidirectional. But after few more iterations the flow becomes bidirectional (flow moves away from the source term in both directions)

Please let me know what is the solution for this problem.

regards, hari

Re: problem with pump as source term

should you be adding a mass source here?

A pump should only provide a momentum source and not be adding mass to the flow.
