Dear all,

I am very new to Fluent and need some help. I am trying to simulate a fluidised sandbed. But my container is not a rectangular tank but a hemisherical one. it is semicircle shape in 2D model.

To fill the tank half full with sand, I have to patch it.But when I use adapt-region, they ask me to specify x and y parameters. But the region I want does not have a fixed xy parameter.(it is not a rectangle due to the rounded edge,the y value changes).

How can I solve this problem to fill the container half full?

That's easy! Simply select rectangular box for region adaption and input opposite corners coordinates, something like this:

- first point, let's say lower right point:

x>=x(max)

y<=y(min)

- second point, upper left point:

x<=x(min)

y=y(max)

So, what I'm saying is that you do not need to match x,y values of grid, just define a rectangular box that will overlap the grid till y=y(max).
