Default energy equation

Hi, I'd want to know if for a heat transfer problem I must turn on only energy equation.In this forum I read about turn on planar conduction .Is it the same?

I think this would be enough to consider heat transfer, after this you must define the temperature or heat flux for boundary conditions.
