Inlet flow ?
Hei , I am trying to simulate the flow around a cylinder : The cylinder is moving with a velocity (for ex = 1m/s) in a big water tank (that's how the experiments have been done): So the liquid is steady and the cylinder is moving.
In fluent I am trying to simulate the opposite : the cylinder is fixed and the liquid is flowing with the appropriate velocity (for ex=1m/s). But of course if I fixe at the inlet Vinlet=1m/s (which is a high reynolds number:50000) FLUENT would developpe some turbulence and so there would be some in front of the cylinder (which is not the case in the experiments). So what about if : -1 I fixed at the inlet : Turbulence Length Scale and Hydraulic Diameter=0 Turbulence Intensity= 0 Turbulent Viscosity Ratio= 0 Is it enough?. -2 Or define the region in front of the cruciform with a velocity of 1m/s without turbulence (and the rest of the region with turbulence )?. How to do that ?. -3 Or use the cylinder as a moving wall ? , as in the experiments ?: the fuild is steady ,not moving while the cruciforme is moving ?: I guessed that there would a lot of problem with the meshes ? (how to adapt....?). What is the best ?. Thanks |
