Radiation Model -S2S

Hi all,

I am trying to model radiation using the S2S model in fluent. The problem can be described as a cubical enclosure where radiation heat transfer is the dominant heat transfer mode. Out of the 6 faces in the cube defining the enclosure one of them is semi transparent (Has a transmittivity of 0.93). Is there a way to specify the transmittivity of this face, as my sole objective is to find the temperature distribution on this face (which has a transmittivity of 0.93). Does the partial enclosure formulation in fluent take care of transmittivity through transparent surfaces. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure how to do this in Fluent, but in their Electronics cooling version (icepak) this is possible by defining the wall an appropriate medium and its properties can be defined further.

CFX can do this.

Your cube has 6 faces, download the demo version of NEVADA (the demo allows up to 10 surfaces) (www.tac1.com) and solve your problem, or try TRASYS or RADCAD if you have access to any of them. Cheers and good luck
