Default Convergence Question

Dear All,

I have a small question regarding convergence and I would be most grateful if any one can answer it.

I did a 2D problem earlier of a wing and it took the lift and drag about 8000 iterations to converge, however I modelled the similar wing in 3D and this time it the solver about 2500 iterations to converge on a solution.

My question is how come this happened even though I have used similar boundary conditions and turbulence model? Is 3D quick compared to 2D?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

James

Looks like there might be some problem. Did you change any of the Under-relaxation factors?
