Anyone that has modeled film condensation, or knows where to find a tutorial?

In film boiling/condensation, which multiphase regime would be best to use?

Not a very good fluid dynamics background, sorry.

best regards,

Gerardo

In film condensation the first phase would be the thick sheet of vapor formation - film boiling region. This region should involve a good radiaition model to predict the accurate results as vapor is a participating memdium, then comes the transition and nucleate zones - FLuent server can do a very decent job with respect to the experimental results (though I have never carried out any exp)and can do a good job when compared to CFX(this analysis I have done), Other solvers such as Ideas ESC, Icepak can not cover SCNB/Film boiling. Expert suggestion is that there are no models that can predict the transition boiling though modeling nucleate and flim are possible to model with some precision.

Hi Nasser,

I want to model water film evaporation/condensation in cylinder, determine volume fraction when reaching at. temp., time for film to evaporate, want to determine the filmīs thickness when subject to several gīs.

thanks,

Gerardo
