highly compressible flow : Fluent Error Message

Hi,

I have a 3D model (with hybrid meshing) of an aerofoil. When I run it in fluent under Coupled-Explicit Solver and Compressible condition (density-ideal) the following error message comes up.

Error: Specific_Heat_by_T_integral: invalid lower bound, T0 <= 0 Error: Object: ()

I would be grateful if anyone could help me with this.

Many thanks, Amit Shrestha

It sounds like your temperature is going to 0K. If this is happening before iterating, then it's probably your boundary conditions. If this is happening while it's iterating, then you should check your limits for temperature (Solve->Controls->Limits) and make sure you're not letting your temperature reach 0K.

Good luck, Jason

Thanks Jason,

I will look into it. But I am quite confused since the possiblity of the temperature going to 0K is quite remote since I am working in the region of 800 to 2000K.

Check underrelaxation for pressure, reduce it to say 0.01 then increase it as the solution progress

check your boundary conditions and operating pressure. Make sure they are correct. inconsistent pressure setting could lead to this warning.

It's result of having warpage element faces. Search for bad elements . You need finding wrong surface orientation, wrapped element face or negative - neglected volume etc. It's my opinion founded to my experiences.

Best regards.

Cheerio!
