Dear All,

I am try to generate a 3-D mesh.

The geometry is a little bit complex. The is a large object, and another one with a very narrow width.

Could you tell me how to generate the mesh?

Thank you very much.

Mesh the large object and the small object separately.

You need to give more details if you expect anyone to be able to give you constructive help.

Thanks, Jeremy.

But if the two parts happened to be one object, and you have to generate mesh for the two parts together, what to do?

Should we mesh the line of the object first, then generate the mesh of the 3-D object?

Best regards.

Yes, you can mesh the lines first, this way you have lots of control over the distribution of the nodes. You can then mesh some of the faces, which will also give you control for the final mesh size. Then finally you can mesh the whole object as one.

You can also split your geometry into 2, one for your smaller object and one for your larger object, and mesh them separately if you are having trouble meshign them together. There is a panel to define zones, simply define the two volumes as the same zone, and when imported into Fluent, they will come in as one volume.
