If consider the three way converter, made of cordierite monolith, as a porous medium, when the reactants go through the converter, how to define the surface reaction in the porous region? It is well known that the reactions take place on the surface of the channels. Could I regard the monolith reactor with many parallel channels ( 1mm diameter) as a porous region?
