Mesh in Boundary Layer

Hi, Can someone explain to me why we always go for hexa mesh to resolve the boundary layer? Why dont we go for tetra?

Re: Mesh in Boundary Layer

Hi Ryan,

A tetrahedral mesh is to be avoided if possible while meshing as it creates grids that are not aligned with the flow field. This results in enhanced numerical/false diffusion and thus gives incorrect answers. Regards, Vijay.
