Ch.14.4 version 6.2 manual: 1. Enable Species Transport in the Species Model panel and select the appropriate Mixture Material.

Define \Models \ Species \Transport & Reaction...

See Section 14.1.2 for information about the mixture material concept, and Section 14.1.3 for more details about using the Species Model panel.

2. (optional) If you want to model full multicomponent diffusion or thermal diffusion, turn on the Full Multicomponent Diffusion or Thermal Diffusion option. See Section 8.8.2 for details.

3. Check and/or define the properties of the mixture and its constituent species.

Define \ Materials...

Mixture properties include the following:

* species in the mixture

* other physical properties (e.g., viscosity, specific heat)

See Section 14.1.4 for details.

4. Set species boundary conditions, as described in Section 14.1.5.

hi kafka, my problem is mass diffusion problem with zero velocity feild. fluid(air) is enclosed in stationary wall cavity. from surface of fluid i will add some species(benzene) which diffuses in fluid.(assume that i am maintain const conc of species at surface of fluid) . i want to simulate this diffusion. .

thanking you

yes you can do it,either you have to deselect the momentum balance from the Solver-menue or you can specify a zero velocity at the inlet. I simulated a diffusion process through a membrane in a closed reaktor, i.e. without velocity field. I used the patch-function to define the mass fraction in each zone. But the otained results didn't agree well with the experimental.
