i am working on a problem in which there is turbulent flow heat transfer inside of pipe and natural convetion at outer surface of the pipe and heat flux is falling at outer surafce of pipe can anyone tell me please , how should i define operating condition ..

and also at outer surface of pipe which is coupled with fluid witj whoom there is natural convection .. how can i give heat flux there ? is there need of UDF?

I hope, this is for ur design verification only,Using calculated parameters,u can try the model with Two different(Split) volume (inside pipe & outside convection domain).Apply ur inlet massflow in inside pipe & u calculate Delta p(pressure drop) across the pipe then impose the required pressure condition on pressure outlet. Then apply convection boundry over inside pipe wallthru out its length, the convection coefficient value should be calculated based on the outside Fluid regime condition.
