Setting Solution Limits

This refers to supersonic flow over blunt cone. Knowing the inflow conditions i can estimate the stagnation pressure etc at the nose. If i set the maximum press in the "solution limit" option (Solve->controls->Limits) as staganation press i get a shock sticking to the nose....unphysical. However if i set the limit to say 2-3 times the staganation pressure...the contours are correct. This means that as flow evolves from initial conditions set (i.e iterations are going on), at some instant(s) the local flow is exceeding stagnation values. My question is why the intermediate max pres/den etc will exceed stagnation values as iteration progresses towards staedy state? And what is the physics behind it?
